Gender and its Intersections: Contemporary Issues and Discourses

Matcha Phorn-in, Founder and Executive Director, Sangsan Anakot Yawachon Foundation, a Graduate Student from the Puey Ungphakorn School of Development Studies, Thammasat University (1st Year, Development Management and Development Practice program), had the opportunity to present my research virtually at the KANITA International Conference on Gender Studies (KICGS 2025).

This conference was organized by the KANITA Centre for Gender and Women’s Studies, Universiti Sains Malaysia in partner with Puey Ungphakorn School of Development Studies, Thammasat University.

Research Paper Title: "Gender and its Intersections: Contemporary Issues and Discourses"

Topic: "Feminist Participatory Action Research: Advancing Environmental Justice and the Right to Water by and for Indigenous Women and Indigenous Women with Diverse SOGIESC (LBQ+)"

This research provides an in-depth analysis of the feminist - intersectionality of gender, ethnicity, and the environment through the lens of Feminist Participatory Action Research (FPAR). It focuses on amplifying the voices and empowering Indigenous women and Indigenous women with diverse SOGIESC (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, Gender Expression, and Sex Characteristics) in their struggle for environmental justice on the right to water.

This work exemplifies transformative research that use intersectional feminist which clearly links of gender dimensions, SOGIESC (Sexual Oreintation, Gender Identity, Expression and Sex Charactoeristics), human rights, and enviromental justice.
